Shannon Ruane is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual, couples and family psychotherapy. Fluent in American Sign Language, she does a great deal of work with deaf and hard of hearing individuals and their families. She maintains a private practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
With over 8 years experience as a clinician, and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill specializing in Rehabilitation Psychology & Counseling, she is currently serving as private
practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are hearing and communication disorders, depression, anxiety, phobias, as well as schizophrenia, bipolar, and personality disorders.

recently completed training online in multicultural ethical issues in counseling through the University of Hawaii. In addition, Shannon had the opportunity to attend a training seminar led by the late Albert Ellis in Chapel Hill, NC
where she learned how to apply Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy in her counseling practice. Shannon also completed training with the American School of Hypnosis and was awarded certification as a hypnotherapist.
